Tear Testing

Tear tests can be performed with a variety of materials to determine the resistance to tearing or ripping. Some of the more common tests are performed on textiles, films and elastomers. In many cases standard grips can be used to conduct the test. However some methods require custom fixtures. For optimum results with our "Super DumbBell" we recommend cutting materials up to 3/16" in thickness. The ASTM D-624 tear test dies can be used in conjunction with the SDSC-1200 Slitting Jig.
